Talks on Panasonic-Sanyo merger moving on

The biggest merger in the history of the Japanese consumer electronics industry is in the works now that Sanyo Corp. has allowed Panasonic to take over the company. Panasonic plans to make Sanyo a subsidiary of its brand, with a focus on batteries.

This will instantly make Panasonic into the world's largest maker of rechargeable batteries.
