Sony Supplier Your Source For HDTV Sets Interview

By Interviewer at 08/03/07 20:19
Name of your website?

Sony Supplier Your Source For HDTV Sets

Your name?

John Gibbons

Your Location (city, etc)

London

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I heard a lot of friends wanted to know more about HDTV. And I have a love for technology and Sony as a brand. It made sense really to make this happen.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I had the site for a while after a friend couldn't pay for it. So when I recieved it, I ended up not doing much to the site. Till I got inspiration to make it into a blog. www.sonysupplier.com is born.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Well originally the domain was owned by a friend. He was straped for cash, and I quite liked the domain and could see it being a great resource for people. So I bought it and now we have one the the best resource sites on HDTV.

Please give us a short summary of your website?

All about Sony and all about HDTV. The site is not just about Sony however, and we review other brands of HDTV.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We are the source that will save you $$$.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Possibly sell it, but right now for the forseable future it will stay with us.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It's always been a progressive climb. We are investing more than ever before. And we are climbing faster then we have ever before.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Make it more of a portal, and have much more content which helps buyers trying to find HDTV sets.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Definetly. We act fast and give the highest quality as always.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Running several sites and businesses, you must be organised for everything to work correctly. With this site, I guess the biggest was when I worked all throughout the day right to the next day... Only to find my eyes trying to close, and I am saying "a bit more" trying to finish tasks for the site, only to have monitor break on me.

Tought me a lesson, balance is crucial!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping organised, and becoming more efficient at doing things with Sony Supplier.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

A friend of mine does our marketing. It works great.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I thought I could do much more in less time. Though in a way, I found it faster than making sites back in the day. Few years ago I would have had my trusted notepad (and a book) to make a site which would take approximately a week! Now same thing is done in less than a few hours.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

About 3 months now. I expect the site to be running as long as Sony is continuing to run.

Why should people visit your site?

Do you want the best HDTV set for your home?

Do you want to save $100's when you buy a HDTV set?

Heres the guy you should call ==> www.sonysupplier.com
