AT&T will loose about a million iPhone Subscriber in 2011 - Analyst predicts

Bloomberg says that in January of next year, AT&T Inc. could lose as much as a million subscriber when their monopoly on iPhones ends, as its top rival - Verizon Wireless begins selling Apple's devices, according to estimates of analysts'

Barclays Capital analyist James Ratcliffe said that around 500,000 to a million of AT&T's iPhone users may end their contracts or decline to renew them in 2011 for jumping to Verizon Wireless.

This happened in the UK with O2 having the rights to the iPhone. For the consumer it was the best possible outcome as the price of an iPhone dropped and so did the minimum contract price.
