AmeriCorps to send in volunteers to help people switch to digital TV

AmeriCorps will be sending in a number of volunteers from its National Civilian Community Corps in the Sacramento area to assist the team from the Federal Communications Commission in installing hardware needed to help homeowners switch to digital TV.

Among the tasks needed to be done is the setting-up of digital converter boxes, adjusting antennas, scanning digital channels, and taking other steps to receive a digital signal.
